A Matter of Dignity

Given the completely haphazard manner in which DVDs are being released, especially classic films, I was astonished to find Michael Cacoyannis's half-forgotten masterpiece (long before the overrated Zorba the Greek) A Matter of Dignity available. I know it from an old art house screening some decades ago, as well as from a favorable review by Vernon Young (a god among film critics). How on earth somebody persuaded the execs to cough up the cash for it will probably remain one of life's last mysteries.
