ok ... any volunteer? ... or I will try to write something ... ha ha

oh no ...
with the speed of Superman, you mean he hasn't flown there?

it's a bird, it's a plane ... oh no ... it's superman ...
ha ha ha

Director: Bryan Singer
Cast: Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth, Kevin Spacey, Parker Posey

My thoughts ...
-- the special effects are great ... wow ... you can really feel the "speed" of superman ... however, the "pacing of the plot" is not as "speedy" or "thrilling" ... if you ask me what could be better, it has to be the "rivalry/tension" (or whatever you call it) between superman and the villains ... from the way i see it, there is hardly much "tension" between the two ... it is so mildly depicted that i do not feel the slightest worry for superman at all ... (on the other hand, that makes the film rather PG for kids ... hooray) ...

-- with regards to the "emotional" scenes, there are some that will touch audience ... but i shan't give those moments away ... to some extent, superman is depicted as rather "human" this time ... hee hee

-- not forgetting, there are numerous humorous scenes ...
(i) ... for me, offhand, it has to be the "contingency" newspaper headlines ... ha ha ha ... * no spoiler * ... how about you?!
(ii) ... also, many of the funny lines belong to Parker Posey ... but i thought she could afford to be more exaggerated in her acting/expression ...

-- finally, i have to credit the director for making this film feel very much like the old film ...
(i) ... at least in its casting ... Brandon Routh really looks like Christopher Reeves ... as to whether he can act ... hey, he was not given many lines ...
(ii) ... in the cinematography and art direction
(iii) ... and also, its wonderful soundtrack ... wow ...

Conclusion:
I thought it is fun to watch for a summer blockbuster ...

although it did not blow me away as much as some critics would like to ... i still recommend it ... afterall, I have to admit the effects are good ... and I grow up watching the previous Superman ...

PS: It was also nice to see the film being dedicated to Christopher Reeves and Dana Reeves

As with PotC: Dead Man's Chest, I'll give this a miss, 2 1/2 hours is far too long for a blockbuster, especially when the films are targetted at a young audience.

The verdict from my wife and eldest son, good first half, then ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Cheers Trev.
