Director: Lexi Alexander
Cast: Elijah Wood, Charlie Hunnam, Leo Gregory, Marc Warren, Geoff Bell

wow ... from the posters alone, you could tell that there are various titles to the film ... Hooligans ... Green Street (UK) ... Green Street Hooligans (USA) ... Football Hooligans ... etc ... hmmm, market targeted titles?!

My thoughts ...
-- I particularly like the performance by Charlie Hunnam

-- ... and also, I am glad that Elijah is trying to rid of his image/role as Frodo after the LOTR trilogy ... by being in Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Sin City, Everything is Illuminated ... and now, Hooligans ... he has done a reasonable good job ...

-- In terms of theme, the film probes at the use of violence, can it be justified? should it be justified? ... also, it deals with issues of family, friends, and gangs ... loyalty and betrayal, etc ...
-- In a way, the filming is rather "stylish" (targeted at a young audience?!) and accompanied by a nice soundtrack ... one particular song is meaningful ...
-- Anyway, if you are worried that you have to be a fan of football to appreciate it ... NO, you don't have to be ... the film is more about hooligans than about football ...
-- Although I like the film in general, I thought some lines/dialogues could be more subtle and less intentional (i.e, those to bring out the differences between US and UK, and cultures, etc)

Conclusion:
Above average ...
