Best DVD's of 2007

Not my list, but DVDbeaver has put up their annual ranking.

www.dvdbeaver.com/DVD_of_...m#winners0

Listed below is an Alexander Kluge set (Region 0 with English subs) which apparently has everything he ever did on it. I've heard nothing about it, but man would I love to get my hands on that.

First Place for Ford AT Fox! Pleasantly surprised about both Marketa and Our Hitler since they were just released a couple of weeks ago.

The Kluge set reportedly consists of all the features and shorts he produced for the cinema from 1960 through 1986. Don't worry, your patience will be rewarded soon.

I forgot to add that we could use this thread for our own lists as well.

I figured as much, but since I've purchased a grand total of about 2 or 3 DVD's this year, I can only comment on what I've rented.

That's fine. As long as one was actually able to see a particular DVD/set, it should qualify for consideration.

I didn't even hear of the Leone collection. By chance did you happen to pick up the Ford collection?

The Leone set came out back in June. The films were also made available separately. Believe it or not, a couple of them I had previously only watched on television, so it worked out well for me. And an attractive bundle to boot.

The Ford I borrowed from a friend a few days ago, thus making it eligible for my list. Needless to say, so far I've only gone through the films I hadn't seen. Packaging is good, not great. But, let's face it, it's the content that matter.

Always, MGM also released another of Leone's films as a cult camp classic double bill. I've only watched Iron Horse from the set but Facets has it so its almost the same as myself having it.

Do make some sort of a list when you get a chance.
