I guess you went for the certified auteur pieces on this occasion.

Everything was ludicrously cheap, and I was feeling a little nostalgic. Almost picked up True Lies as well, but I smell a future Special Edition. It is a little upsetting that Cameron and Arnold didn't make at least a dozen movies together.

Hey, some interesting titles.

I own Magnolia and 25th Hour on DVD, and Last Days on VCD. Starship Troopers still holds a place among my dozen original VHS copies I haven't sold. Not a guilty pleasure at all, I find it a great satire on American society. And I haven't watched Showgirls, yet.

I hHve also been on a shopping-spree the last couple of weeks and have bought some DVDs (most of them cost me between 3 and 6 Euros).
Now here are some guilty pleasures!

A Clockwork Orange (Stanley Kubrick / UK / 1971)
Abril Despedaado Behind the Sun (Walter Salles / Brazil, France, Switzerland / 2001)
Arlington Road (Mark Pellington / USA / 1999)
Cape Fear ( / USA / 1962)
Cape Fear (Martin Scorsese / USA / 1991)
Chuen jik sat sau Fulltime Killer (Johnny To, Ka-Fai Wai / Hong Kong / 2001)
Die innere Sicherheit The State I Am In (Christian Petzold / Germany / 2000)
Groundhog Day (Harold Ramis / USA / 1993)
Hakuchi The Idiot (Akira Kurosawa / Japan / 1951)
Indiscreet (Stanley Donen / USA / 195
Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (Quentin Tarantino / USA / 2004)
King Kong (John Guillermin / USA / 1976)
Kontroll (Nimrd Antal / Hungary / 2003)
Kuro no tenshi Vol. 2 Black Angel Vol. 2 (Takashi Ishii / Japan / 1999)
Lost Killers (Dito Tsintsadze / Germany / 2000)

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (Wes Anderson / USA / 2004)

Just got The Little Mermaid, and that's it. I've noticed that for someone who hates Disney as a corporation so much, I certainly have contributed to their profits with the now staggering amount of their films I own on DVD.

At least Song of the South was a bootleg.

Wow! I'm surprised you were even abled to get hold of a bootleg for Song of the South. Talking of Disney I'd love to get hold of the Mickey Mouse B&W dvd, the one with Steamboat Willie etc. It was never released here and import prices are extortionate because it was a limited release.

High & Low - Kurosawa
The Trial of Joan of Arc - Bresson
Facing Window - Ozpetek

Cheers Trev
