Santa was good to me.

Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 4
The Seventh Continent
71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance
Code Unknown
No Direction Home
Kicking and Screaming
Harakiri
Hands Over the City
Spirit of the Beehive
John Caprenter 3-Pack: Starman, Christine, Vampires

Looks like I have to get Benny's video, because I can't have an incomplete trilogy, but I'd say overall rather pleased with the bounty.

Shin Heike Monogatari is a 2 DVD-set but it's the only film included. The second disc has Kaneto Shindo's excellent 1975 doc. on Mizoguchi (which is also part of Criterion's Ugetsu).

Still haven't picked up the Criterion edition even though at least at one point in time I viewed Ugetsu as Mizoguchi's best. Christmas shall tide me over for awhile, and afterwards I'll dig into the rest.

No DVDs for me this year. Only got one present and it was an electric razor, which I needed desperately.
Glad you all got what you wantedand I also wish you a happy new year. I will probably be celebrating in the capitol of Slovenia for the sixth time in a row.

I'd love to know why you desperately needed an electric razor A.

First dvd bought this year, Claude Chabrol's La Demoiselle d'Honneur - The Bridesmaid. I'm sure arsaib4 mentioned it somewhere and hopefully it was a positive comment.

Cheers Trev.

A, you may look rather fetching in a beard but only you would know.

A couple of additions to the stockpile.

Pitfall - (Otoshiana) (1962) directed by Hiroshi Teshigahara. From the director of Woman of the Dunes and released in the Eureka MoC range so I'm expecting good things.

Kirei (2004) directed by Katsuya Matsumura. No great expectations for this one but hopefully it'll have something worthy of comment. A Terra release.

An Inconvenient Truth (2006) directed by Davis Guggenheim, released by Paramount.

Cheers Trev

They're showing four films by Teshigahara at the Gene Siskel film center, but I doubt I'll be albe to catch any of them.

I was surprised to learn that during his long career Teshigahara only made eleven films. It'll be a real shame if you do miss the opportunity to see four of them but sadly, we all have to prioratize.

Do you know which films are screening wpqx?

Cheers Trev.
