The Page Turner

Did you know that I saw Dborah Franois in person when she was in Singapore?

yup ... for that film ...

Oops ... you mean i did not write a review on it?

(1) It has to be THE ENDING ...
that haunting music ... as the camera pans in room by room ... one of the films with such a haunting ending ...

(2) Also, there are many scenes whereby the audience would "worry" for the main protagonist, because Dborah Franois the page turner has "worked her way" so scarily into her live and family ... with one intention in mind ... REVENGE ... shudder ...

The only Q&A I remembered ...
She did not know how to play the piano ...
;PPP

Paradise Now (2005) Dir by Hany Abu-Assad.

Bare bones single layer disc from Warner Bros. Decent quality transfer.

Rocco and his Brothers (1960) Dir by Luchino Visconti.

2 disc set from C'Est La Vie, the film comes on a dual layer disc while the second disc contains a documentary on Visconti and basic extras, stills etc. Not the best transfer available of the film but decent enough and at least this minnow of a company has made the effort to provide something extra.

Has Woman on the Beach come out in the US or is that an import DVD?

An import: Korean (Region-3/NTSC). But since Hong's other recent effort have seen the light of day in one format or another, it's likely that this one will also come out eventually.

As my first Hong film "Woman on the Beach" was a major disappointment, I have decided to approach his work more carefully. But I think i also have a korean DVD of "Virgin stripped bare by her bachelors".

I haven't watched it yet, so I can't respond at this point. But it seems to have done well with the international critics.
