Latin American Cinema (Son of the Bride, Nine Queens)

I'm an Argentinean filmmaker, and was more than proud when I find out that our film, Son of the Bride (El Hijo de la Novia), was nominated as best Foreign film, for the academy. Other of our most recent films, was Nine Queens (Nueve Reinas), which also got to be released on the US system. And there's still another Argentinean movie (but this time, independant) that's trying to make it up on IFILM.COM... here's the link. The only twist is that the movie was done by 16 year olds... wow. They are going to get international release soon, hopefully. Check it out. Tell me what you think about this Argentinean movies.

I just saw a wonderful Argentine film by Lucrecia martel called La Cienaga. This is not an easy film to watch but it is very authentic and quite moving. Driven by atmosphere and character study rather than plot, the film seems to depict the decaying values of the Argentine middle class.
