Did anyone really understand this movie, it kind of ended abrubtly without any warning.

I love the film, and the way the camera dwells on Rosetta at the end, capturing an expression which signifies her tormentor has compassion for her after all. So,subtly optimistic,i'd say, while leaving the viewer to make his/her own mind up about what course Rosetta's life might then take.It certainly deserved the Cannes Palme d'Or,i thought.

I thought the ending was perfect. I love a good ending. The ending to "A Taste of Others" was similar.
Rosetta's ending is not a puzzle or anything, like in any god story: She did something evil (for obvious reasons), he understood, felt compassion despite it and forgave her.
