"Africe in the Picture" is not the name of these two movies. It's the name of a series of African films produced for broadcast on PBS, and hosted by Danny Glover. The films in the series included: "Faat-Kine" by Ousmane Sembene, "Daresalam" by Issa Serge Coelo, and the two films you're talking about. They are by the late Senegalese director
Djibril Diop Mambéty, and they are part of an unfinished series of short features called "Tales of Ordinary People". "Le Franc" is about a musician who dreams of winning the lottery. "La Petite Vendeuse de Soleil" is about a young girl who sells newspapers.
