"Africe in the Picture" is not the name of these two movies. It's the name of a series of African films produced for broadcast on PBS, and hosted by Danny Glover. The films in the series included: "Faat-Kine" by Ousmane Sembene, "Daresalam" by Issa Serge Coelo, and the two films you're talking about. They are by the late Senegalese director
Djibril Diop Mamb├ęty, and they are part of an unfinished series of short features called "Tales of Ordinary People". "Le Franc" is about a musician who dreams of winning the lottery. "La Petite Vendeuse de Soleil" is about a young girl who sells newspapers.
