I am doing a psychological study and need a scene of a woman (or possibly a man) sobbing. It needs to be a film clip that not many college students have seen. Can anyone help me out?

try tarkovsky's "stalker "where the "holy fool's" wife writhes & sobs,or any scene of falconetti suffering in carl dreyer's "passion of jean of arc"a true masterwork.
cheers

The last scene of Tsai's "Vive L'Amour" is a long (about five minutes) shot of a woman crying. That's the first thing that comes to mind.

More Tarkovsky: Mirror.
Some heavy sobbing in Barry Lyndon (wife going mad). Bergman films are good for sobbing, eg. Autumn Sonata.

Perhaps the greatest scene with a woman sobbing is in Tarkovsky's THE SACRIFICE. Sara Fleetwood has a "breakdown" scene that is truly horrifying to watch (and it goes on for some time). I was deeply moved by it.
