I saw Noi Albinoi at the Vancouver Int'l Film Fest a few days ago. In the movie, the main character, Noi, spends time in his tiny town's used bookstore. There's a scene where the acerbic clerk reads a long, ridiculously bleak passage from a philosophy book before throwing it in the trash, saying he's ridding his store of all garbage.
Does anyone know the author of the book?
If you haven't seen this movie, I'd recommend it. It showed a side of Iceland I'd never seen, and had startlingly surprising touches. Best disaffected teen Icelandic drama I've seen all year!
