Yes,Altman's directed many fine films, and i came close to doing a list for him.I'm surprised by the inclusion of Secret Honor(which admittedly i've not seen)and Brewster McCloud, rather than Nashville(for many, still his masterpiece-though i'm not enamoured),The Player and Gosford Park. For me,Short Cuts is his best-an important and influential film.3 Women is well worth a look for its enigmatic, eccentric intimacy.Cookie's Fortune is pleasing and unpretentious.

Altman's supposedly uncinematic theatrical adaptions are rather underrated. The early 80s period contains some of his most interesting work, especially with respect to aspects of subjectivity, fantasy and desire (if you sway that way). Streamers and Come Back to the 5 and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean are compelling films. Personally, I don't care if a film is set in one location or an orgy of spaces and times, so long as something is contained within the frame that holds interest. I especially like the interplay between memory and present staged through mirrors in Jimmy Dean.
