Film Censorship

Is the World going potty i know the Censors in the Uk are going Bozonkers.I Noticed it all going a bit odd about 2 years ago when Certain films began to surface again including the Exorcist,Driller Killer,I Spit on your Grave,Clockwork Orange.Early in the 1980s a Conservative Uk Government decided what we could and could not see and some of the above mentioned films were Banned for whatever reason. Now on Uk Tv it is perfectly normal to go Nude live on tv and even saying that nasty C-Word is Not Unusual. The Show that is typical of this is Graham Norton who is pushing his luck at times. Now it appears to be the case That the 18 Certificate in the Uk now stand for Pornography allowed Including pretty much everything you would expect to see in a Bad Porn Film.A 15 Certificate now appears to be what the old 18 used to be so Essentially all the grades have moved up 1 Level further.I Am not a prude at all but how far do they aim to go.I Am interested to know what the Censorship is like in Other Countries and if anyone agrees with the Censors in The Uk.The Films that come to mind,if anyone has not fallen asleep reading this are,Dog Days Austria,Seul Contre Tous (I Stand Alone ) France,Sex and Lucia Spain,The Idiots Denmark,The Piano Teacher Austria/France,Ai No Corrida Japan,La Vie De Jesus France,La Pornographe France,Sebastiane Uk,Intimacy France,Salo 180 Days Italy ?? Betty Blue the Uncut Version these are the ones that spring to mind or should they all take a Leaf out of Haneke`s Book ie Funny Games where you have to use your own imagination as to what is happening as he chooses not to show the Violence on screen. In Saying that i have listed La Pianiste which is one of his.Have any of these films been Censored in Your Country?? Any Comments Appreciated.I Have a fine European Collection of Films but it is getting to the stage where you cannot leave some on a shelf in case they get in to the Wrong Hands.Have The Uk Censors Gone Potty or Not????????????????

As far as I'm concerned they can release what they like - my attitude is, if you don't like it, don't watch it.
