Ma Mere (2004) (France)

Director: Christophe Honor
Cast: Isabelle Huppert, Louis Garrel

The official website is here

* I think the synopsis has some spoilers *

Oh no, I really do not know how to comment on this film
It is loosely based on the novel by Georges Bataille

What is good
-- The performance by the two main cast (Isabelle Huppert and Louis Garrel) esp. the former
-- Definitely the ending scene with the ending song

What may be problematic
-- Initially (for the first 15 min or so), for those who have not read the synopsis or the novel, you may find the transitions from scenes to scenes kind of jumpy and abrupt, and you have to infer who these characters are, how they are related, what is happening, what they are thinking, etc.
But don't worry, it is easy to figure out
-- As the film proceeds, you will start realizing more and more ... and guessing more and more ... and seeing more and more hmmm not for the conservatives
-- In essence, the film gets more and more daring, disturbing and difficult

-- Daring, disturbing and difficult so, only if you are not conservative
-- Or if you are a diehard fan of Isabelle Huppert or Louis Garrel
-- Or if you want to know what the ending scene is all about

After the Happy Together part, I needed to see WKW's Happy Together.

It was risible, trying to be risque. Bataille is def not for all tastes

How come Garrel %^&*()off in so many flicks?

I like Isabelle Huppert.
