I was in serbia, and just couldn`t resist picking up all these movies for only 2 bucks apiece, or even cheaper. The transfers are all superb.

Kika (Almodovar)
Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown (Almodovar)
8 Women (Ozon)
Tom Thumb (Dahan)
Kaena - The Prophecy (Delaporte, Pinon)
Bad Lieutenat (Ferrara)
Do you remember Dolly Bell? (Kusturica)
The Wounds (Dragojevic)
Nathalie (Fontaine)
Mediterraneo (Salvatores)
A Tale of two Sisters (Ji-woon Kim)

and some others I don`t remember right now.

Temptress Moon
Away With Words
Nid De Guepes
Gate of Flesh
The Yakuza Papers (Battles Without Honour and Humanity)
Winners and Sinners
Eagle Shooting Heroes
Deadful Melody
Dragon Chronicles (vcd)
The 8 Masters
And 4 more episodes of The Water Margin tv series.

on video.
Thelonious Monk: Masters of Jazz documentary
8 Diagram Pole Fighter
Babycart in Peril
Naked Killer (uncut version) surprisingly decent film in the directors edition.
Yet more episodes of the Water Margin
Two Mario Bava shlockers, Mask of Satan and Baron Blood.

I've managed to watch Gate of Flesh, Away With Words, Eureka, Yakuza Papers, Naked Killer, 8 Masters, Nid De Guepes, both Bavas, the Babycart episode, Pole Fighter, Winners and Sinners, and half a dozen eisodes of the Water Margin.
I'm girding my loins for a festival of Brigitte Lin weirdness when East is Red finally plops through my letterbox.
Silmido and Temptress Moon might require a bit more concentration. Weekend movies.

I really enjoyed Eureka and Away With Words. Both flawed, but enjoyable. They resonate nicely. Gate of Flesh is pretty cool too. Brutally beautiful.
Yakuza Papers is ok, but by no means the best of Kinji Fukasaku's early gangster movies.

Hi trevor, is Windstruck the one where Jun Ji-hyun (a.ka. My Sassy Girl) stars? What did you think? the first half was funny, it just got terrible after that.

I also bought White Valentine (she's there too!) and Amenabar's Thesis. I want to show it to my 9-year old cousin. =D

I haven't watched "Windstruck" yet, picked it up pretty cheap but will certainly comment on it once I have.

Cheers Trev.

Just picked up "Onibaba" at long last, bargain price as well. "Failan" coming through the post, again another bargain.

Cheers Trev.

b.t.w. does anyone want to know the names of some good reliable sellers on Ebay, there are a couple that I've had some really good bargains from, official releases too. e.g. The Weeping Meadow (Artificial Eye) for 5.10 inc postage. Send me a private message if you want details

Just a further comment on "Onibaba", even though I have not watched it properly yet, full marks to "Eureka" and their "Masters of Cinema" range, the transfer is immaculate, stunning and better than I've ever seen the film.

They have also managed to include excellent extras including a commentary from the director and stars and 40 minutes of film shot on location by lead actor Kei Sato.

If this is a typical example of the series, I'll certainly be looking for more of them.

It's nice to praise a company for once.

Cheers Trev.
