arsaib4, where on earth do you find these films, you always appear to obtain the most unusual dvds.

At least there are a couple more for the Argentina thread.

Cheers Trev.

Yeah, arsaib always has the most interesting titles for me. I'd like to see most of the films myself, but I usually don't even know where to rent them

Well as far as Solonas goes, if you can get a copy of Hour of the Furnaces by all means let me know.

Well ironically the last shipment of DVD's I'm still waiting on, but the ones I ordered (from the same damn place) two weeks later just showed up. Because of a sale on Fox DVD's, that is the majority of my collection.

Nell - Michael Apted
La Ceremonie - Claude Chabrol (giving French language 90's films another chance)
Who are the Debolts? - John Korty
The Rains Came - Clarence Brown
Vanishing Point - Richard C. Sarafian
The Street With No Name - William Keighley
The Innocents - Jack Clayton
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir - Joseph L. Mankiewicz
Taisho Trilogy - Seijun Suzuki
Underworld Beauty - Seijun Suzuki
Microcosmos - Claude Nuridsany and Marie Perennou
Laura - Otto Preminger
A Man and a Woman - Claude Lelouch
Leave Her to Heaven - John M. Stahl

Is the Hou film available here yet, because its playing in the cinema in a few weeks. I know Cafe Lumiere premiered the same week the DVD came out. Oh and I've heard horrible things about the transfer on 47 Ronin, so you'll have to keep me informed about that.

No, not at this point. But even if it was, I'd still strongly recommend that you haul your @#%$ to the Music Box (June 23 - 29).

Its a nice theater, but it takes a little under an hour to get there and the tickets are $9.25 a piece, so it really isn't much more to just buy the dvd, but of course its the preferred method. Although I must say I saw Army of Shadows in their second theatre, and its about as big as a living room, and the seats and space between isles certainly leave something to be desired. I was spoiled after the Gene Siskel Film Center, without a doubt the nicest seats I've ever encountered in a movie theatre. Music Box does have atmosphere though, still set up like a grand old movie palace, and they even have someone come in and play organ music between shows.
