Vidocq - What a film......

Postby filmbuff » Sat Jun 29, 2002 10:39 am

Here's an oddball film. Recently released on video and DVD (in Canada at least), this French film took my breath away. It was shot on a new digital Sony camara format and the visuals are astounding. Kind of a french Sherlock Holmes (story, era, murder mystery) meets The Matrix/City of Lost Children/Blade Runner (visually) Not to all tastes to be sure but innovative and truly unique. I'd love to hear what others thought of it. Along with No Man's Land and Ambush, the best film I've seen this year.

it's a good and entertaining film and I though that was a way better than the awfull The Brotherhood Of the Wolf.

I love Depardieu and the story very much, more enchanting than the Brotherhood that it seems so pretencious and badly made, this film actually is more humble and achives a lot more
