So far a very disappointing turn out for rental releases, luckily Strayed is available along with J-Horror Premonition and that's it so far.

Looks like the only place that bothers with the more obscure titles is the library which is a shame.

Very intrigued to see Malle's Black Moon, heard some interesting things about it, and it looks like its at least his weirdest film. Malle, or at least early Malle has been somewhat slow here in the US, but Criterion just put out four of his films, I think New Yorker will eternally sit on the others like they always do.

I still can't fathom how you get info so early arsaib4, do you know which company is distributing these Buuel releases?

I'm not certain but I think it's Arrow Films, who are also releasing Exterminating Angel a bit earlier. As for the info, I'm fortunate to have a few friends in just about every continent who constantly feed me this stuff, and get the same in return from this crazy cinphile.

Forgot to mention (though there is no real point at present), the Sunday Times had a dvd giveaway last weekend, Godard and the Rolling Stones "Sympathy for the Devil". I picked it up but haven't had a chance to check it over yet.

3 French releases on the 21st

It's great to see that Assayas' Clean, which will most likely top my 2006 list, is being released on DVD in the U.K. L'Enfer was also a pleasant surprise (I'm assuming that it's the Tanovic film, though I like the Chabrol too!). I haven't watched Lemming yet.

Yes hopefully a great week, Chabrol's L'Enfer has been available for quite a while, I have the dvd and I've certainly been looking forward to seeing the Tanovic film. Clean hasn't been shown theatrically here and I missed Lemming unfortunately.

All I hope now is that at least a couple of them will be available for rent.
