kikujiro

Kikujiro, directed by and starring Takeshi Kitano, is such a lovely little film. I saw it for the second time the other night and thought I'd come on here and recommend it to you if you haven't seen it.

I believe didn't get much support from critics when it came out, but to me , it's well up there with his other films. It's a refreshingly non sentimental story of a kid searching for his mother. He and Kitano, who plays an ex-yakuza, have some surreally funny moments along the way. I think it's a wonderful film. :)

Yes, a lovely film. Have we been meeting elsewhere, Christine? (little prince, mons and k.m mean anything to you?)

aye

I love this film and I love Kitano's work that I discovered a few months a go thanks to some very nice people posting here and on the bbc.co.uk/films message board...

It's so sweet, so funny and tender, an also he sucessfully mixes all sorts of genres into one film, he is poetic and he is a child, he is a grown up who doesn talk much, he is something special.

I am looking forward to see Battle Royale as I haven't seen it and many people I trust praise it...
