Is this good news or bad news?

Hey, everybody. I'm sure some of you are aware that when a movie is really popular, they might make a videogame based on it to cash in on the success. This often happens with Hollywood films, but never with foreign films. Until now. I am not making this up. A company called "Sammy" is making a videogame for the Playstation 2 that is based on Akira Kurosawa's "The Seven Samurai." I read this in a popular videogame magazine called "The Official Playstation Magazine." The source is reliable. What do you think?

Is it good or bad?

Who cares? If you don't like it just ignore it - that's what I'll do. It's impossible to stop big businesses and commercialisation taking over the world.

I would say it is bad, but it wouldn't be the first time American's have horned in on Kurosawa's classic, remember the Magnificent Seven and its sequel?

There were actual three sequels: "Return of the Seven" (1966), "Guns of the Magnificent Seven" (1969), and "The Magnificent Seven Ride" (1972).
There was also a Italain version of "The Seven Samurai" called The Seven Magnificent Gladiators" (1983), plus a television series that lasted from 1998-2000; therefore, a video game based on the original film, would hardly seem out of place.

As a serious gamer (not the same as video game geek), I would definitely check it out, though it's dissapointing to kno 99.9% of the people who play it will never know the original source.
