Has anyone seen Bossa Nova yet? It's showing at the local theatre and I'm debating whether or not to see it.

I saw it, only because I'm a die-hard fan of Antonio Carlos Jobim, whose music figures prominently on the soundtrack. It's kind of a love-letter from Hector Babenco to his wife Amy Irving. Could have been much more cliched, but I found it warm and absorbing.

Is this really a foreign film. I know it was filmed in Brazil, but ......

Yes, I've seen Bossa Nova, mostly since I'm a Brazilian movie lover.
It's quite interesting, with gorgeous cinematography and wonderful music.
As for the plot, it's basicaly the cliched romance type, with a little bit of comedy. Worth seeing for its music, really. But nevertheless if you like cinema, just go and watch it, it sure is fun.
