The short film Life Lessons, maybe not his best... but I'd put it in his top ten.

You intrigue me even though I believe Cape Fear should have never been remade, then again no film should. Mine would be as follows, in order of greatness of course.
1. Raging Bull
2. Last Temptation of Christ
3. Taxi Driver
4. Goodfellas
5. Mean Streets
6. The King of Comedy
7. Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore
8. After Hours
9. Casino
10. The Last Waltz

I really like Scorsese even though I don't fancy his latest film very much, I think it's De Caprio (that frankly I don't understnad why he was cast in the firt place).
Mean Streets
Taxi Driver
Raging Bull

I love MAIN STREETS the most with a superb Harvey Keitel and a young De Niro and also a great soundtrack in the background.

I find RAGING BULL a very good film but rather unconfortable ...

TAXI DRIVER is his best for me, I like all about it, the story, the charachters and a young Jodie Forster and a superb de Niro along Cybill Sheperd (that did have that many good roles other than Bogdanovich flcik)

NEW YOR NEW YORK it's exellent film an very underated is this an Scorsese film? I forgot now, but De Niro and Liza Minelli are awesome in a musical and it's very funny!

GOODFELLAS is rather too much the cool of cool and I don't like that way he has of glamurasing the whole gansgter feel to it all...Main Streets was better, it wasn't any ned to do the same again!

after hours is exellent and funny!! and THE AGE OF INNOCENCE it's wonderfull and a different way for him to work.

CASINO... there is nothing I don't like about this film...maybe it's a bit too long but still is a masterpiece and the GUCCI shoes are superb in De Niro!

I think "Bringing out the Dead" is one of his most underrated films (most people don't even know he made it) and was one of my 10 favs in 1999. I suggest renting it if you haven't seen it. Every frame on all his films breathe and vibrate with energy, life, and the excitement of a born storyteller and filmmaker, someone who has a great story and just can't wait to tell it. John Boorman said that every scene in a film must have life breahted into it, and the director must do that, and Scorsese has, even when the film sucks ("New York, New York" anyone?
