Mouchette may be my favourite Bresson!(just ahead of A Man Escaped.)I was less sure whether to include Une Femme Douce and Les Anges du Peche

You can't remove the nuns! I really favour Les Anges du Peche's composition. Habit just frames up so well...

I haven't seen Balthazar or Mouchette yet, cause I can't find them anywhere! Has Bresson even made 10 movies?

I found Lancelot du Lac quite bizarre. All those close-ups of horses, the ubiquitous sound of clanging metal, the repetitiveness of the knight-fight scenes (I forget the term for the event). Can someone offer an explanation?

as bresson deals with the "inner man" i think it has to do with the futility of existence once the quest for the holy grail has failed,but don't forget there is always a dry comic element in this master of film! i personaly love the film but it sure has polarised some of my friends,besides it is different so that helps with me,he does make you think doesn't he!

if bresson has made a bad film i haven't seen it and i have viewed all mentioned here.
country priest/pickpocket/man ecaped/devil probably/lancelot/l'argent &( the wonderful) balthazar are my faves...cheers!

There's no question that A Man Escaped is Bresson's most...perfect film. But close runners-up are Diary of a Country Priest, Pickpoket, and Money.
