I watched ....Colonel Blimp about two weeks ago, and it was so glorious, it makes my top 20 all time(I think)
I'd like to say my top 3 Powell/Pressburger films are:

1.Black Narcissus
2. ...Colonel Blimp
3. Red Shoes

I especially like The Thief of Bagdad (Powell was one of a few directors on it), The Red Shoes and A Matter of Life and Death. If only contemporary British films had even half the ambition and glorious visual imagination! The Red Shoes ballet is the peak of British cinema, imo.

I'm no expert, but of the several films of his I have seen, Stairway to Heaven/A Matter of Life and Death is by far the best. Its a shame it is out of print in the US, as are many, many, many, many other great films.
