The American director Sidney Lumet once wrote that the only dubbed versions of his films that he had ever liked were the Italian ones. Even their own films are shot silently and then the sound is dubbed in. I had often wondered if that was Anthony Quinn's voice in "La Strada" or someone elses as it sounds greatly like him and had asked in a number of different places before I got an answer there.
