Is there such a movie with Christ and diciples portrayed as homosexual

Postby pamoakley » Wed Aug 27, 2003 12:51 am

Some one has sent me a petition stating there is a movie out there that has not made it to the US that portrays Jesus Christ and His diciples as homosexuals. They want me to sign this petition to prevent it coming to the US, but I don't even know if this is true or someone just collecting e-mail address and physical addresses or area in which we all live. Can you help. I don't know if this is true or if it is another internet scam.

I do not know of the existence of any such film. In any case I would entreat you not to sign such a petition, as it panders to the promotion of the oppressive values peddled by the scare-mongering Conservative right in America, as part of the culture of fear so ably observed in Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine.

It may be the Mel Gibson film that hasn't been released yet..I could be way off but I do know that its theme is Christian and that it has already sparked some controversy.

Don't think it would be that one, though almost any film with a Biblical basis will cause controversy . Life of Brian, Last Temptation of Christ etc.

There was a film, years ago, by homosexual avant garde director, Kenneth Anger, called "Scorpio Rising" that raised the question as to whether Jesus and his disciples were gay or not, in a very indirect way, however.

Oh yes there is, it's called "Spank me Jesus I've been bad!"
and you can find it from all good christian porn shops accros the South. But what u really should b looking 4 is a small budget French flick called "Jesus da pimp" where Jesus is portrayed as a super pimp (u know he used to hang out with the whores..) who gains world power by blackmailing the evil politicians with details of they're adventures to the red light districts around the world. It features Snoop dog as Jesus,Christina Aguilera & Britney Spears as Ho no.1&2,+a cameo from Whoopy Goldberg as God.And (unless the transvestites count) he's all straight so that the southern babtists should love it too!..So watch out for the all pimping, coke sniffing, std healing Jesus getting jiggy with "It"(wink, wink) theathers near u on Christmas 2000 and 3! Fab or what!

No it was'nt Mel Gibsons movie. That movie is already heavily critisized because of Gibson's Catholic view where the jews are blamed for Jesus' death.

Well there are some very interesting low budget Christ films out there (I can't wait to see Jesus Christ:Vampire killer), The film mentioned in that petition is bogus. I remember hearing about that e-mail petition before. Its about as factual as the e-mail in which the president of Rwanda wants to send you millions of dollars.
Let you're friends no its bogus and then go rent Jesus of Montreal because its a great movie

Way back in the 1970's I remember watching a TV special from a "Christian" network called something like "The New Sacrilegious Movies" . It was hosted by Pat Boone and featured a panel discussion by four right-wing Christian intellectuals and educators (one of them a Catholic priest) in front of an audience of clean-cut Christian youth. The discussion was about these two movies that portrayed Jesus Christ in what they thought was a less than favorable light. One of the movies was, I think, a Danish film that showed Christ to be sexually active (I can't remember its name), the other was "The Passover Plot" which portrayed Christ as a wild-eyed political radical who would use drugs to fake his own death on the cross and rise up from the dead three days later to convince the people he was "divine" and lead a revolt against the Romans. During the course of the show there was a phone interview with Donald Pleasence who starred in "The Passover Plot" who seemed (as far as I can remember) rather surprised that anyone would take a movie so seriously.

Anyway, the panel agreed that if the movie-going flower of American youth were exposed to these evil films they would be transformed into animal-mutilating, black-robe-wearing, Satan-worshipping, Alice Cooper listening little pagans and that our entire civilazation (meaning America) would suffer a sudden, violent and cataclysmic collapse brought on by the wrath of God.

The panel also said that the organization that sponsored this TV special had a "secret plan" to prevent these movies being shown in the U.S., which I guess must have been successful because I haven't heard of either of these movies since
