Sorry, I am sooo behind what's going on at our boards that I didn't see it before you mentioned it here. I'm glad you wrote something, though I have to put off reading it for the moment.

I know how it is to watch too many short films, and I have decided some time ago to not watch more than five or six in a row if I can avoid it. Just because they are short it doesn't mean they don't have as much to say as feature films, and after watching a dozen shorts in a row my sytem has usually already collapsed. For me every film is a film worth contemplating and devoting your time to, and it doesn't matter if the running time is one minute or ten hours. Lumiere and Brakhage have made as important stuff as any director out there.

But you are really watching an incredible amount of films wpqx. Now that you list them, it is more than I would have expected. Kudos to you fo managing all that!

I've averaged a movie a day last year, I'm trying for 2 a day now. Mostly those after the 1970s, mostly the fault of my video store and library.

Have also started keeping a journal, but only as of 2007 so it's a shame I'd forgetten plenty of titles I've previously watched.

I've been doing similar lists since 1998, but only brought them to perfection (at least I believe this to be true at this point) about a year ago. Right now I should be regularly updating seven lists with every new film I see. But I have a lot of work to catch up with...
Not having internet access at home for more than six months really keeps you from doing much.

I was under the impression that you had a few issues with Grindhouse, in particular the Tarantino segment.

I rated it as an overall experience, the trailers, feel, although it bogs down during the Tarantino segment, I still feel as a complete picture it is tremendous. I debated rating the two films seperately, but where would I figure the mock trailers in?

Now, are you in love with the whole Spidey franchise or is it just the latest installment which you like as much as Out 1?

I was a fan of the second Spidey film as well, and was massively disappointed with the first. I think part of my enjoyment of the last two films was that my expectations for them were drastically lowered. Had this Spider Man film left out the Sandman subplot I probably would have given it a 10/10, I just felt it stuffed too much in there, and had something of a Batman sequel feel to it at parts.

Out 1 was a difficult experience, and I'm not going to say it was the greatest thing ever just because it was 12 hours. I am going to say repeatedly that I was honored to have an opportunity to see it in theaters, and some moments of it were truly profound, but I felt that somehow it lacked a really devastating conclusion, which could have tied everything together splendidly.
