Looking at your list I saw a few films that I have no idea why they weren't on my list. I pulled these from my catalogue on my computer, and was a little shocked to find Wings of Desire and Come and See weren't even listed. Both A Nos Amours and Loulou are strong contenders, and I might even add them.

When did you get a chance to see Berlin Alexanderplatz?

Yeah, the Pialat films are a must. I'll probably add Loulou after watching it again. Same for the Wenders. I finally saw Berlin in its entirety a few months ago on DVD-Recordable.

Of course, after mentioning it in another thread just a few minutes ago, I forgot to list Damnation. I guess it'll have to wait until my next update.

I don't really have an excuse for not having Paris, Texas on my list. I was a little surprised to see Fast Times at Ridgemont High on your list, which is probably the least pretentious Cameron Crowe ever was as a screenwriter.

I had no idea that Crowe was involved with that one. Needless to say, I haven't followed his career very closely. I know Amy Heckerling directed it, whose Clueless is another film I have a soft spot for. She hasn't done much else of note.

Agreed, Crowe wrote the screenplay for Fast Times. Clueless is a good time as well.

Im Gonna Git You Sucka
Tango and Cash

Should these be filed under personal choices, or do you really believe that they belong with the very best of the decade?

My brother is a little more extreme. He considers Tango and Cash right next to Citizen Kane and Aguirre. I've seen I'm Gonna Git You Sucka at least 30 times, and hey people thought it was crazy to praise Vertigo. And yes I do think both of these films are better than Vertigo.

I haven't seen 45 films from wpqx's list and about two-thirds of arsaib's. ANd here I thought I knew quite a lot of films from the 80s...
As much as I enjoy this, I currently don't have the time to post my own list (hell, I should be finishing my reviews instead of posting here ) but I'm sure you'll be in for some surprises too. My first Pialat will definitely be on it
