One of these days I will see Black God White Devil, I did see Terra Em Transe and it was brilliant. As far as I know Eureka is still unavailable here, but I did find a bootleg of it.

@ Don
O K... you need to see a lot, but let me assure you they are all great

@wpqx
YOu can get Eureka from Artificial Eye in the UK. I liked the washed-out print. I own it taped from TV
I had a VHS copy of Terra em Transe, but it was the worst picture quality I have ever seen I tried four or five times, but gave up after the first scenes. Still the only film I've seen by Rocha. Same goes for Murakami, Aoyama and Kawase. But I'm not in a rush, as life lies still ahead of me

Yeah these lists are a little common, and too general for my tastes. Hell I even think top ten's by decade are too general.

I agree with you and these things change over time. Plus, I also think it depends on your mood that day or where you are in life at the moment. We should start a thread about our top ten movies and how they reflect the day/week/month were having. This way the lists would be forever evolving, you would never leave any particular movie or director out in the cold, you could always list crappy guilty pleasures and no one could say anything about it.

I get a lot of stick for my Top 10 of all time mainly because my choices either veet too close to the mainstream or that they aren't artistically viable.

I've grown to ignore these criticism as a Top 10 of all time list is something personal to me that has grown in me since I was a child. I'd like to think my taste has matured but I still get a kick out of Star Wars which is on my list.

I forgot to add one of my wife's favourites- The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser, which i must have blocked from my mind and she'd not mentioned for fear no doubt of upsetting me (still a painful issue for me after my earlier run-in with the director, as others here may be aware from an old thread)
