Scorsese's tribute to Italian Cinema

Postby Rhastein » Sun Oct 28, 2001 9:25 pm

A fabulous new documentary has just been released called "My Voyage to Italy". It's Martin Scorsese's personal tribute to the Italian films of the 1940s,50s and 60s that inspired him to become a filmmaker. It's four hours long, but I could have sat through another four hours! The main directors he pays tribute to are Roberto Rossellini, Vittorio De Sica, Lucino Visconti, Michaelangelo Antonioni, and of course, Federico Fellini. If you're not familiar with neo-realist Italian cinema, this is a wonderful opportunity to have someone with a great love and appreciation introduce you. If you are familiar with it, your heart will do somersaults re-living those magic moments all over again!
