Set in the 1840s, not long after California became part of the United States, this Western explores the treatment of Mexicans by locals and the judicial system. The story centers on the trial of Hatfield Carnes (Dennis Hopper), who's accused of murdering a Mexican in a gun duel. A state judge (Dan O'Herlihy) arrives to try the sensitive case, while the baby-faced sheriff (Pat Wayne) tries to maintain order. Yvonne Craig and Ken Curtis also star.
