This sentimental musical stars Bing Crosby as Larry Poole, a singer imprisoned on a bum rap. In jail, he meets a death-row inmate who wishes to leave his estate to the family of the man he killed as a way of making amends. To prevent the victim's young daughter from being sent to an orphanage, Larry conjures up a plan to turn the spooky old mansion into the Haunted House Café. Jazz legends Louis Armstrong and Lionel Hampton appear.
