James Caan and Elliott Gould are disgruntled turn-of-the-century vaudevillians who decide to become New York City safecrackers -- but making a killing in their new career turns out to be far funnier than their old act. In short order, they earn the hatred of the city's best safecracker and the devotion of one of its leading citizens (Diane Keaton). Can't you just hear those tumblers falling into place?
