Actors Andre Gregory and Wallace Shawn are obsessed with mounting a pared-down stage production of Anton Chekhov's "Uncle Vanya" in New York City. The production -- staged for and starring their friends -- is a labor of love. This stirring drama, which was director Louis Malle's final film, also features Julianne Moore, Larry Pine, Brooke Smith, Phoebe Brand, Lynn Cohen and Madhur Jaffrey.
