Implicated in her mother's murder, sweet, shy Holly Gooding (Drew Barrymore) decides to leave New York City and start anew in Los Angeles. She rents a room from a writer, Patrick (George Newbern), with whom she soon becomes involved romantically. Life seems to finally be taking a brighter turn -- until an alter-ego starts to haunt Holly's life and threaten her relationship with Patrick. But is the evil twin just a figment of Holly's imagination?
