Peter Davison plays Margery Allingham's enigmatic 1930s sleuth Campion, who's aided and abetted by Brian Glover, his slightly shady manservant. Campion discovers that an old school friend, whose funeral he attended, might not be dead after all. He also receives an urgent plea from an old flame to solve another puzzling murder.
