Drood (Tom Hulce) is a cartoonist whose wacky sense of humor aids him in his job but is disastrous to his personal life. Divorced and behind at work, Drood returns home to find his apartment has been ransacked. After getting pummeled by a thug named Buddy (Don Opper), Drood contacts the police -- only to discover he's a suspect in the murder of Yolanda (Virginia Madsen), a beautiful, mysterious blonde with whom he had an affair!
