Sarju (Jeetendra) is a watchman who, along with his wife Laxmi (Moushumi Chatterjee), endures huge sacrifices to put their only son, Amar (Deepak Tijori), through college. Amar, who's ashamed of his parents' humble background, meets a wealthy heiress, Asha (Neelam), and they fall in love. But Sarju is outraged when he finds out his son tried to cover up his humble origins so Asha wouldn't find out.
