Vic (Richard Dreyfuss) is a schizophrenic mob boss who arrives home after a brief stint in the hospital. Mickey (Jeff Goldblum), Vic's closest ally, has been seeing Vic's girlfriend Grace (Diane Lane) while he's been away. In Vic's absence, countless gangsters (Kyle MacLachlan, Gregory Hines and Burt Reynolds) have been bickering over his territory -- but bizarre Ben London (Gabriel Byrne) will end up being Vic's biggest opponent.
