Prepare for a close look at the grinding poverty of the Mumbai chawls and the people who inhabit them. There are 49 families, comprising 239 individuals, living in a chawl, and the conditions in which they live are pathetic. Yet, amid the most inhuman living conditions and lack of privacy, the 49 families become a part of a bigger family. Joy, sorrow, grief and elation are what each member feels for the other.
