Elliott Gould stars as Casey of the Mudville Nine in this cinematic rendition of the famous poem by Ernest Lawrence Thayer. Down on his luck and needing to prove he's still got the goods to bring fame and fortune to the small town of Mudville, Casey awaits his turn at bat as the crowd's "ten thousand eyes" see their hopes dashed on the mound one player after another. But then it's Casey's turn, and hopes rise once again.
