Working-class teenager Mike (John Moulder-Brown) takes a job at a London bathhouse and soon falls for an older co-worker, Susan (Jane Asher, in a BAFTA-nominated performance), in this engrossing exploration of adolescent obsession. Mike is crushed when she rebuffs his attentions in favor of a handsome swimming instructor, but when his attempts to break up the new couple are successful, tragedy ensues.
