Set aboard a submarine heading for South America, this Cannes Film Festival winner tells the story of a group of Nazi officials fleeing Germany just before the end of World War II. After one of the fugitive passengers is wounded during a bout with a destroyer, the sub ends up off the shore of France, where the group kidnaps a doctor (Henri Vidal). Aware that his life is in danger, the doctor soon begins to manipulate the emotions of his captors.
