This sparkling musical comedy stars Joan Crawford as Janie Barlow, an aspiring hoofer at a burlesque hall who repels the amorous overtures of a wealthy playboy, Tod Newton (Franchot Tone), as she pursues an illustrious stage director. When Tod helps Janie get into a Broadway show helmed by Patch Gallagher (Clark Gable), she's convinced this is her chance to win Patch's heart.
