This made-for-TV family adventure based on a novel by Marguerite Henry stars 1970s teen heartthrob Leif Garrett as a boy who joins the Pony Express during the pre-Civil War years. Peter (Garrett), who lives with his folks on a 19th-century trading post, runs away from home when his father sells his beloved horse. Signing on as a Pony Express rider, Peter begins an exciting journey that will shape his character as he grows to manhood.
