Rekha dreams of being a famous dancer but must stifle her ambition after marrying Amit (Amitabh Bachchan) and becoming a housewife and mother. But when Amit dies in a train accident, she returns to the stage, where she finds stardom. Her fame attracts a mysterious producer who offers her a part in a movie -- but who seems to know far too much about her past life. Is it possible that Amit survived the accident and is still alive?
