Noteworthy for its faithfulness to Mary Shelley's novel, this version of the Frankenstein tale stars Leonard Whiting as the obsessed doctor who brings to life a creature made of dead body parts. The surprisingly intelligent monster (Michael Sarrazin) soon begins to degenerate physically and mentally, so Frankenstein creates a beautiful mate for him. But a misstep by the doctor sends the monster into a rage, putting Frankenstein's life in danger.
