After narrowly surviving a car crash, Georges (Alain Delon) spends weeks in a coma, only to wake up and discover that he has no memories of his former life. But as he's coaxed back to health by his wife (Senta Berger) and best friend (Sergio Fantoni), he slowly begins to fear that he's a pawn in their sinister game.
